Ep 3: Liz Bolton
Come and learn with me as I talk with Liz Bolton about her journey from small-town PA to becoming a yogaprenaur and champion for postpartum fitness. Liz shares oldest child wisdom, lessons learned from the feminist trenches, what is was like to fight her way back to loving her body after giving birth…and how she's creating spaces for other moms to do the same.
Keep reading to get a couple self-reflection questions to keep in mind as you listen, reflect and learn from these stories.
I had a blast talking with Liz. I relate quite a bit to all her stories about being the first in her family to do a lot of things. It got me thinking about all the things I’ve learned about myself as I’ve paved the way for others in my family or community to take the road less traveled. So, I offer you these questions: In what ways have you paved the way? What did it take for you to be the first to take steps into uncharted territory? What have you learned about yourself along the way?
Liz also talked a lot about how she’s traveled through different phases in her life and career. From college to social justice/feminist work to education/communication and, now, into entrepreneurship. This is true and typical of most of us as we shift missions, focus and career multiple times in our lives. Change is hard and it can be even harder to recognize when it is time to make a shift in our lives. How do you know when it’s time to move into a new adventure or phase in life? What helps you know when it’s time for a change? How do you prepare yourself for risk?
